coffee maker troubles
#11
Some of them have a "Steal-a-cup" feature where they will stop draining into the pot if the carafe top is not pushing a button up. Try seating the carafe so the handle sits at a different angle and see if that solves the problem. Could it be that your coffee filters are too thick? Odd to get two lemons in a row like that.

I am wondering if your coffee filters are large enough? Did you buy the 4 cup ones by mistake? If so, all it takes is a ground or two to get stuck in that spring mechanism and it will clog the basket.

I just ran water through and it worked fine. I just turned the carafe handle to the other side. The coffee is stuff we buy ground--always consistent--and the filters are the same we've always purchased. We only have coffee in the morning on the week days--so I'll have to wait till tomorrow to see if anything worked. I've moved the carafe to all angles and have pushed it up... this is the strangest thing!!

Guess what? I traded some coffee filters at work--gave them 30--took 5. And the coffee maker works perfectly fine with these filters!!! Mystery solved! I should have realized it because it's the only thing I changed--bought new filters--BUT they are the same filters I've always used! So weird. I'll have to replace the ones I left at work--they have the same coffee maker as we do here.
