Do you think it is feasible to make a crib sheet out of fleece? Doesn't fleece have a tendency to stretch out of shape when used?

I'm not sure I'd use fleece for a crib sheet, even if stretching wasn't an issue. Considering how much babies scoot around in their cribs, it might end up creating static electricity.

I think it would be just fine to make crib sheets from fleece. Would sure be soft and cuddley.

I would never put a fleece sheet in a crib with a newborn because they do not need to be on polyester due to static, heat, dampness, and the risk of fuzzies getting into their airways.

The sheets are for a 15 month olds crib and a two year olds toddler bed. They love fleece blankets so I thought wouldn't it be wonderful to be surrounded by that soft warmth? Thank you for your comments.

Flannel would be better. It seems like fleece would be soft since when we touch it fleece feels wonderful. However, this is not the same as sleeping on it. Try putting yardage on your bed tonight. tuck it in on the top and bottom of your bed.
You will find that it is too hot., makes you sweat. Perhaps fleece under the crib sheet would be best...if you have to use fleece.

not with a newborn but, once the baby reached 12-18 months I wouldn't see a problem

We have fleece sheets we got at WallyWorld. My husband loves them, but I think they feel clammy. Flannel is nicer.

A friend of mine made a fleece blanket for her son - she checked on him later that night - he was having difficulties breathing and ended up in the hospital. That fleece was made of recycled plastic bottles - and it was discovered he was allergic to plastic.
