    Default Crinkly, crackly plastic stuff

Where can I get the crinkly, crackly stuff that can be put between two pieces of fabric and used to make small toys for babies? I checked at a JoAnns and they had no idea. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

What about chip bags? Have thought about using them for dementia quilts.

I've heard of using old mylar balloons, cellophane, empty cereal bags, plastic bags that you get to carry your groceries home from the store, and even the poly/plastic feed bags (anything washable that makes noise). I'm sure others will come along with more ideas. Just make sure whatever you use is washable.

If you search the web for "how to make crinkle toys tutorials" you will get ideas from there as to what others have used in the past.

It's called "Crinkle Material" They use the same material to make toys for babies & pets.

I saved the paper from the cereal boxes and opened them carefully and rinsed them and dried them and made a bunch of the toys for babies. I used my left over flannel and made squares and put rick rack or ribbon to stick out all around. They are called baby taggies.

Thank you all for your suggestions. Think I will try the crinkle material per Feather3's post as it shows how it holds up after washing.

Are they washable? Sounds like a great idea if they are.
