The date was changed a few years ago. I think it was primarily for the trick or treaters. At least that's what I remember.

oh well, the whole world is spinning to this tune. so it's not just us.
I had heard this too but farmers get up and work when they want/need to not because the clock says so(my dad hated it too) and with factories I worked in one and there were no windows and they had 3 shifts to keep running 24 hrs a day, so what difference would the sunlight make for them? Wish we knew the real reason.

I work for a tree company and DST means we can get more work done during the day during our busy season (storm season) down here in Fla

I grew up in Alaska where the daylight/darkness pendulum swings pretty severely over the course of the year. Because of this, changing the clocks has never fazed me much. It's just a minor nuisance to remember to do so.

However, I was always told that when you "Fall Back", you gain an hour of sleep. I believed this myth until I became a parent. Then I learned what truly happens. You don't gain an hour of sleep that night . . . the kids are up an hour earlier in the morning! HA! No one told me this would happen.

Always quilting asked~~~ Does anyone like DST?I'd prefer not to have it.

I don't care which one they use, if they would just STOP changing from one to the other!! At my age, I get confused enough as it is!! I'd like us (California) to be more like Arizona. I grew up there and we did fine with no changes in time. ;)

I heard that they were making DST longer & ST shorter, every year till they just wouldn't change it. Hmmmm I wish it just didn't change! Several Yrs ago the TX educational system scheduled the TASS test at DST!(I think that we now have a TaKS Test.) Any way our state test was scheduled on DST's spring forward date. My youngest DS was exhausted. Boy was I mad. I think everyone in TX was mad! All the test across the whole state were down. Youngest DS pasted the test but would've done better than he did if he'd had enough sleep.
