    Ok ,since I now know that the couch is green.
    You could use the 2nd fabric for a small pillow. if the piping is plaid, I would make backpillows in stripes, plaid and floral.put the picture above couch in a BIG White frame( you can do that yourself with woodtrim), paint the small table beside the couch white too.

    It really depends on what kind of feeling you want for this room. If you want a calm and serene ,keep it to calm colors.
    I love to use different fabrics and patterns in my decorating. I try to stay some in the same colorfamily,but i will always throw in the unexpected.lol

    If you are thinking "tropical beach" I think you need to go with brighter colors. Just my lowly opinion! I like things to be a bit energetic!

    I am not sure either of them give quite the impression you are going for...I did some playing with fabrics I found online (Joann decorator fabrics) and found these....maybe something like one of these would work better?
