I like the second one. You can always go for more color with throw pillows etc.

Thank you everyone for all your help! I knew I would get some confirmation here! I have picked #2 and I agree that it isn't the very best "Beach" look, but I have given up looking at decorator fabrics with any hope to do better.

I am having a ball gathering different items for decor. My biggest dilemma is finding end tables and a coffee table that doesn't cost an arm & a leg! I found one at Marshalls and I keep going back to Home Goods since they get new stuff all the time. I will wait until I get the tables to decide what items get to stay and what needs to go back.

first one, second one, first one, second one
As I see it, from the post both work.
It appears there is no wrong choice here.

    NEITHER!
I would use plain bright beach colors, different ones!
Sea, Sand, Bright sky blue, one or two leaf greens, plus some of your favorite flower colors in reds oranges yellows perhaps some pink or fuschia?
Using fat quarters make striped (using uneven width of stripes) pillows, table toppers, wall quilts?

I like those fabrics for backs, for reversing sides.
