i have never met a quilter who was not also a collector of something else. that must be why we have stashes. collecting is in the blood.

ya know what? my grandmother kept the passover set hidden all year long and we only saw it once a year. poo on that! if i can't look at it and enjoy it, why have it? every piece that i own gets used from time to time. i've broken plenty, but we all enjoyed them. i gave bunches to my kids and they also display and use. it makes me very happy to see it on a table. david's grandmother used hers whenever we came to visit and i always felt like a queen. my own mother was 'afraid' to use any of hers. it stayed behind doors ever since i remember. i sold all the lead crystal to a dealer because none us us liked it or wanted it. same with my mother's passover set.
