I decided not to watch it. It just seems like every time the TV comes on it's another horrible story of senseless hatred and killings. The news programs have just become a place for sicko's to exchange idea's.

I am in agreement with you all. Too much violence. Of course, having just said that my favorite things to watch on TV are the PBS mysteries. At least there is only a little violence in those shows.
I didn't watch the new Exorcist TV series, as I heard it was really frightening and I can't deal with "Devil" TV shows. Did anyone else watch it?

I just watched this from my DVR list last night. It has a very "24" feel to it, especially with Kiefer Sutherland in the lead role. Personally I will watch it because it has promise. But I did feel a bit squeamish when I saw the capital in ruin. Hits very close to home with the 9/11 anniversary just a week or two ago.
Can't wait for next week

I think it has promise. I understand how people can be squeamish about it but it always seems to be human nature to dream up worst possible scenarios and then dramatize them. Think about all the shows and movies we've had where we've wiped ourselves out with nuclear weapons or the ones where aliens come to earth and enslave all humans. It's just the way we are.

DH and I really liked it, but as old Washington hands, we cringed at some of the things the L.A. writers did. There is NO WAY the new President would be taken to the White House. That's why they maintain secure off-site facilities to be used in cases like the one portrayed on the show or 9-11.
The writing errors always bug me -- like when (I have noticed this on NCIS, which theoretically takes place in the D.C. area) characters refer to Interstate highways as "the 95" or "the 495." I know, in California, Interstates are referred to that way, but never in the East. In D.C., it would be "95" or "495." I guess you can file this along with the exterior shots that look nothing like the D.C. area and everything like the California hills. I know verisimilitude is not the objective, but I think they COULD try.
