That happened here not too long ago my DH blamed the satellite. I put in new batteries and voila I fixed it.

Once Pat hooked EVERYTHING into this crazy loop - 3 different remotes. I almost went loopy. I yelled at him that I didn't want to have to hop on one foot in a Northerly direction and flush the toilet 3 times JUST TO TURN ON THE FLIPPIN TV. THen he added a splitter and nothing worked. He called tech support and had a lady tech on the line. I could hear by the sound of his tone that he was not pleased with this at all. At one point he got really curt with her and said something like: "I am not an idiot, mam - I did plug the unit in!" All of a sudden he started laughing: "YES, I am an idiot - I forgot to switch the splitter back to the correct side."
