Did I Do A Boo Boo Yesterday!!!!!

I never did that with eggs, although I was frying bacon in a black cast iron fry pan once (I have no idea what possessed me to use that pan). After taking the bacon out of the pan I left the pan on the burner with the burner on.It smoked like mad and almost caught on fire. Well, all the smoke detectors went on and I had to open the front door, kitchen door and windows and it was Jan. in Mass. The noise of the smoke detectors made my neighbors across the street come outside. My 3 kids woke up and it was about 1 A.M. I hardly ever use those cast iron pans.

When learning to cook I made a mean roast pot....twice!
The second time was probably a test to see if I remembered to just put a cover on the pot and move it to the next burner, and not the back porch floor.
(I did learn to paint the porch floor also!)

I put a pot on the stove the other day with the veggies we were having with our dinner and while it was cooking went up stairs to finish up something...I smelled something and ran down stairs. I didn't ruin my stove but I had to throw the pot away. I don't think I could have gotten the burnt stuff out of the bottom of it.

I have boiled eggs dry and burnt the eggs so bad the yolks were black on one side. the pan was browned but did come clean with soaking. These egs didn't explode because the shells had already cracked in a few places I guess.
Now I set the timer so i can remember to turn the stove off.

I did it better. I forgot that I left a pan of eggs on to boil and went to my quilting bee, finally remembered the eggs 2
hours later. The pan melted and had burnt eggs all over the kitchen. Scared the dogs to death when the eggs started popping and the lid flew off the pan. When I finally got home, there was quite a mess to clean up and the house reeked burnt eggs for weeks. The 2 very brave dogs were cowering under the dining room table.

Oh yeah - had to repaint the kitchen ceiling!! The eggs just exploded everywhere. By the time I got the egg washed off, the ceiling paint was washed off too. Sorry to hear about your stove. Anymore I have to set a timer for everything it seems...
