i have one of those glass stove tops and don't like it at all. i'll never have another one. i had to change all my old pots and pans because the glass top can melt aluminum. I had to buy all stainless steel. i did get two not stick pans but they had to have stainless steel bottoms. it's hard to find out that info when buying.
i do hope you got everything cleaned up over time. My hubby believes in having service policies (Sears ones) so my glass top is covered.

Well, I'm glad no people were hurt. Too bad about the stove, though.

Long time ago I left a kettle of water on the stove and forgot it. The bottom melted to the burner and the smoke was terrible!!! I have a new glass top stove now and am very careful when I cook, that is all I do and never leave the kitchen with any burner on!!! I learned too.

With me-it was an espresso explosion-lots of company in the diningroom, I had placed the pot on the burner, but must have forgotten to put that little screen-thingy in or something. A year later, we were still finding coffee grinds in unexpected places, and well-the ceiling needed repainting anyway, I guess.

Does any one know what the price is to replace the top? I have been so very careful & am really a very tidy person. I was so excited to get the border on that quilt so I can do the wool applique. By the way the quilt is beautiful. Will post pictures when I get the wool done.
Don't know if I can turn this into insurance or not. Think we have a $1000.00 deductible. Well guess there just went more of my quilt money. LOL NOT!!!!!

I have learned to never leave the kitchen when I'm cooking. I don't have the memory I used to have and when I leave a room I forget everything about what I was doing. I have my laptop set up on the counter and so when cooking I usually just surf! I know I would burn the house down otherwise!
