My husband and I occasionally see a commercial, and after it
is over, we roll our eyes over to each other, which means
what is that all about. Yeah, really we don't even know what they are advertising.

What about the Febreeze commercials? They blindfold unsuspecting people and place them in a disgusting room or kitchen and ask them what they smell.
Do they really want their product associated with filthy rooms and filthy furniture where who knows what is living there (bed bugs, lice, rodents), or rotting food in a roach infested kitchen?
If they are targeting the customer that has these problems then they have eliminated the masses and are only speaking to those people without any standards for cleanliness.
I thought advertisements were supposed to make you feel good about their products. This commercial just grosses me out.

That is a terrible commercial (AT&T). I have them an email expressing my distaste; perhaps other will as well.

Anymore I think there are a lot of commercials that don't relate what they are trying to sell.

Hubby and I have a list of commercials we don't like

    1. "Should have married John Clark."
    2. Which kid should get to record the 4th thing and they love Jennifer more but Kyle only has the thick hair going for him.
    3. If you think the wedgie commercial is bad--you've missed the late night version where people kick or punch him in the jewels over and over again. Talk about going from bad to worse.
    4. I think it was Old Spice that had the black guy riding the white horse backwards--Handsome guy--stupid commercial.
    5. The bathtubs on the beach or deck for Viagra. That's romantic? That's the right moment?
    6. Aflac--That duck needs some orange sauce! That is the most annoying sound in the world.
    7. The old Enzyte commercials where Bob & his wife always have those big toothy grins. It freaks us out. The Stepford Wives are less scary.
    8. The dog toys cruising around in the Kia (I think--I don't really know because I just find them too disturbing to watch.)
    9. The hip-hop hamsters in the Kia Soul. Again--creepy! Rats driving around in a cute car and making the gangsta rap signs makes me want to stock up on D-Con.
    10. Burger King--creepier than the hamsters & dog toys.
    11. I also find the chocolate commercial with all the people & animals forming and dissolving into the chocolate disturbing.

I really should quit watching tv!

I hate the one where the dad eats the daughter's goldfish, and the baby's diaper balloons when he unloads. The most well used button on my clicker is the MUTE button. The only trouble is that I still have to see a little bit of this trash to know when the show starts.

Oh, and the one where the boy on the Haribo commercial tells his mother, "I told you to call me MR. ________" That kid ought to be in his room for a week! (with nothing but a light and some books!)

They aren't getting free advertising; they are telling me which products to avoid!

This is why I have something like TIVO. I just speed through the commercials! I don't want to watch something if it is playing real time.

I can't stand most commercials. The one with the guy from a foreign country saying he's Peggy is hilarious. I think it's from a credit card commercial.

Yeah, that one drives me crazy because my name is Peggi. Makes me want to smack someone.

I also HATE the AT&T commercial "I should have married John Clark". Hate, hate, hate it! And I don't use the word "hate" lightly. I think we should ALL write to AT&T and the stupid ad agency that came up with it and tell them they suck and we're NOT buying their product. Maybe we'd have an impact on them.

And the stupid ED commercial with the two bathtubs - I don't hate that one, it's just plain stupid.

I have to agree, I love Tivo. I don't watch tv live anymore JUST so I can avoid the commercials.

Interesting. I wondered who the ad agency was that made the AT&T "John Clark" ad, so I did some Googling. Apparently, we're not the only ones who hate that commercial! There are tons of blogs, articles, and even a forum on AT&T's own website FULL of complaints about it. Unfortunately, AT&T has either not noticed or doesn't care.
