Do you collect buttons and old spools of thread?

Yes, I have lots of buttons and display them in old glass Ball Jars with the wire lids on them. Also have a huge pickle jar full of old spools of thread. They look so pretty and I have the buttons sorted by sizes in the jars.

I also have a cute crochet necklace with buttons on them that I wear all the time and get lots of nice compliments on the necklace.

Yes, we go to auctions a couple times a month and I look for sewing things.

When I was a little girl I remember going to my great grandma's house and spending lots of time looking at all the pretty buttons in her button jar, so as soon as I became a grandmother (18 years ago) I started collecting buttons so my grandchildren could do the same thing and they do. I sure wish I could find out whatever happened to grandma's button jars.

I have an old canning jar of buttons and one of old wooden spools of thread at my sewing station.
I wish I had the buttons my Memere used to have; because when we were kids, my cousins and I used to like to sew them onto paper to make pictures. Those were the days!

I bought several batches of buttons at auctions. They look so pretty and I will never use them lol.

I collect buttons and when I find a really special one I make a necklace out of it. I'm attaching photos of some I have made around antique or special buttons.
