Do you do the "lost and then found" routine?

I had bought some quiltsmart almost a month ago for a row of the month I am in. I looked for it for 3 days this week and when I finally found it (in my box of fat quarters!!) I went to text a friend to tell her and alas..... I had lost my (cell) phone somewhere in all my fabric, sewing room, living room, etc..... took me 2 hours to find it!! AAARRGGHH!!!  (I don't have a house phone.... no sense in paying 2 phone bills!) And, of course that would be the one time it isn't ringing every 5 minutes! I was ready to email work and have someone call me so I could find it!! It was right on the table but I had buried it under a cutting mat along with other odds and ends when I was tearing things apart looking for the quiltsmart!

Hmmmmm......you must be the kind of person we will hear about on tv right around the end of the year. Someone will donate a fur coat to like Salvation Army, and as the workers go through it they will feel "something" in the lining of the coat. Upon investigation they will discover lots of money -- $2000 to be exact!!! Believe it or not this is a true story!!!
I have a friend whose two elderly great aunts who lived together used to tell everyone that upon their deaths to look absolutely everywhere -- under the bottoms of dresser drawers, near the tops of window shades, etc. -- for hidden money! They were from the Depression era and didn't trust their money to banks!! They kept it hidden in really odd places all around their house!

What I find odd is that I can't remember where I put things, but I remember where other people put stuff. Car keys, books, shoes, etc. We are so busy remembering where their stuff is, we forget where we put ours. That's my story and I'm sticking to it !

I do what Piepatch suggests, hide your notes. If I'm hiding something, such as a birthday present for Nov.24, I'll get my calendar, turn to Nov., and jot a note, 24 bedroom closet. It works for me, except I need a larger calendar...

Yea I know this one all to well. Still looking for the solitare diamond earrings given to me by my husband. Put them away for "safe keeping" and heck if I know where they are safe & sound at!! Haven't been able to tell my husband yet, keep hoping I will find them.

My Mom told me that she was "squirreling" away some $$ for a special purpose...then she passed away suddenly. I went through every single item in that house...never found any...I have NO idea what she did or how much she had "squirreled"... its a vicious cycle for me...put something "away"...then spend hours hunting it down.
