I think the worst is when women ( of all ages) go overboard with chemical color treatments and perms. I know a few gals that feel like if they don't get a fresh perm every 8 weeks then they'll go nuts. Their hair looks fried , broken, and crispy. WHY???

Don't think your age should determine your hair length. Whatever works for you is what it should be.

i'm nearly 63, and have hair down to my waist. it's more practical than fussing with it every day--i work in an operating room, and have had "hat hair" since 1970. short hair is more high maintenance than a long braid or ponytail is for me. no question about how i'm going to wear it. keepin' it simple...

It's interesting how many people think short is less work, others think long hair is less work. I think it has a lot to do with whether your hair is curly or is thick.

For me, my long straight hair is less work, because I don't style, color, curl, or perm, etc. I simply put it in a braid or bun when I'm working or cooking; takes about 2-3 minutes. God gave me hair to cover my head, and it's working very well. Although it's long, I do not keep it that way out of any notion of vanity.
I try not to judge others who spend more time on their hair, nails, & fashion, even though I consider it to be wasteful time to me, beyond being presentable. I hope they will grant me the same forgiveness & not assume that my plain simplicity is ignorance; just that my values are different. I won't even mention clothing or lack thereof.

I had long hair and cut it two years ago. No sorry I did. You are right, I hate all the fussing with the shorter hair. Its now long enough to pull back or up, I like it that way and I am 56!

My hair is short, but has been since I was in my 20's. I am now 75, and find it much easier to manage. I wash it every day and just leave it to dry. Only when I am going out somewhere special, do I style it.

As we age, our hair gets thinner. The short styles look better to me. I don't like hair on my neck, so short cuts are my choice.
