Do you like the climate/weather where you live?

They have a lot more rain, but people are still out and about because for the most part it is gentle rain. I would recommend a prolonged visit before actually moving there. The gray can really depress a lot of people.
They have state sales tax and property taxes (no Prop 13 though) but no state income taxes.
I have never lived in Oregon, near the coast, it is beautiful and they do not have the sales tax. Also, they pump your gas, no extra charge compared to what we pay in San Diego.
Good luck!

I lived in Florida for 18 yrs. and in Coos Bay, Oregon for 5. I liked Oregon, but we were on the southern coast where it is milder climate. Florida is too much bugs and hurricane worry every year. Springfield, Ohio is not the best place in the world but it is closer to family and at my age I guess that is where I belong. I do like the change of seasons but spend most of the winter indoors.

I'm in Oklahoma. The weather is not my favorite topic of late. It's hot. I keep asking myself, "Who lives where it's 110 degrees?!?!?!" Well, I do. If all my family wasn't here, I'd pack up and move up north in a heartbeat!

We have 4 seasons which I like but it can be extreme on both ends--which I don't like. Below zero isn't so bad if it's just below but -30 is brutal. This past winter was stormy with lots of snow and a very wet spring and summer which made farming tough. But we also have the wildlife. This morning the doe and her twins paraded across our back yard.

Montana is beautiful. However we do have snow from about November to February, sometimes into March and April. The summers are nice, and we rarely get over 95 in the hottest month-August. Winters can get cold, even below freezing. All in all tho, the weather is nice and I prefer it to California (lived there for 8 years).

I'm not crazy about the gray days of winter but I love where we live. An hour from the mountains, ocean, big city(Portland) a couple hours from high desert and live in a beautiful fertile valley with beautiful trees and native plants! This is God's country :D  :D
