Do you like purple hull peas?

You can't beat a big pot of purple hull peas, a pan of cornbread and a plate of homegrown tomatoes!!! I love eating them and really don't mind shelling them. It's fun to do while watching TV. I really need to find some (since I didn't plant any this year) to shell, blanch and freeze.
I also make pea hull jellies. The different types of pea hulls give the jelly different flavors. I just use the shells left after removing the peas.

Fava beans and purple hull peas are entirely different. I love purple hull peas! You can sometimes get them frozen if you don't grow them or find them at the farmer's market. My parents are both from Texarkana on the TX/AR line. My grandfather grew them and ate them with fresh green onions and fresh tomatoes! Yes, I love okra and cornbread also. YUM!!
