Yes, my granddaughter made some cookies in a jar a couple years ago, everyone raved about them. They were delicious cookies

OK maybe not jars but I do something similar. I get an empty water bottle and cut it in half. Then you add two fat quarters folded side by side and put the two pieces back together with tape, then you make a label to go over the old one with your own personal message " Like Project Linus Volunteers" and give each person one. They are cute and because the label hides the tape they think you somehow stuffed the fq's in there. I want to find some recipes for the jars too as these make wonderful gifts for neighbors and friends. I will watch this post to learn more of what everyone else does. Thanks for starting it.

When I am at the last minute gift giving for friends and family I make the jars or baskets that contain their hobbies.

I have made and given chocolate chip cookies, brownies, spiced tea mix and hot chocolate mix. It was easy and friends and family seem to enjoy it.

What a great idea! Now need the recipes for the jars. Yes, Goodwill, Thrift stores and yard sales are great places to find canning jars. I would use the jars in gift gaving just locally, too $$$ for postage.

Who was looking for the jars? I was at Menards this morning and they were CHEAP...I think Menards has a web site and does shipping, too.
