I used to work in a dry cleaner's and when the time came to clean out the vault for a move to another location there were ten wedding dresses stored there that no one ever came to get after months of calling them. I finally took them to a resale shop for donation and they didn't want them if they were older than two years because the style was out of date. So I kept one and remodeled it for my daughter in law's wedding dress and gave the rest to Goodwill they were excited to get them.

I deliberately bought an fancy white dress in stead of a traditional gown for my wedding 22 years ago, on the theory that I would be able to use it as a going out dress, but never have and it is still hanging in my closet in spite of the fact that I haven't been that size for over a decade.

These stories are so sweet. I still have mine. A dress I made, kind of like a flower child dress. Would have been married 29 years this year, had he not passed away.

I have never married so I don't have one. I do have the dress I wore as bridesmaid to my sister and both she and my mum still have theirs. My mums is 38 years old now and I still think it is beautiful. I would love to wear it or part of it if I eventually marry.

My Mom made my wedding dress and it was very simple. I remade it into a dress that 4 of my 5 granddaughters have been baptized in.
( I have a set of twin granddaughters - they couldn't wear the dress at the same time!)
