    That is what I think too...maybe if it was a smaller checkered background it would work, but it seems like the embroidery is distracted by the background and really doesn't show up as well as it would on a fabric with less pattern.

    i agree the checkered background seems to make the embroidery get lost... I love the embroidery on the pillowcases..... I have just made some for my great nieces and nephews and used the embroidery on the cuffs.
