i never use the oven in the summer time I use the slow cooker or my nu wave so the house stays nice and cool and stuff comes out better in those than the oven too. don't know how everyone else feels but I don't want to stand over a hot stove in the summer.

I've got some spaghetti sauce going in mine today, as it happens. It puts out less heat and uses less energy than other kinds of cooking, and it's always a good feeling to have the cooking chore behind me hours early.

We recently went to a housewarming party where they did some grilling and then held the burgers and sausages in a crock pot for visitors coming at odd times. Worked great, and I had not thought to use it that way.

That cake recipe sounds wonderful, but I'm afraid to look!

I use mine in all year round but always in the summer. I like cooking all my beans in. Both Boston baked, and refried. But my families favorite is still Quilter's Pot Roast.

Thanks! Sounds wonderful. And my husband just let me know that he just turned off the crock pot. Dinner us ready. Alas, no yummy dessert.

Absolutely! Best invention ever. Summertime is perfect because I put it on in the morning, quilt all day and have dinner ready with little or no mess.

Will definitely try this dessert. I also use my crockpot all year around and especially for lunch after church on Sunday. I love the slow cooker bags really saves on cleaning.
