Oh yes I do!!!!!!!!! DH #1 taught me!!!!!!!!! He also taught me to knit.

I only outline & a few other stitches. Hate-Hate-Hate the satin stitch. I mean REALLY HATE that one.

Have made the 50 state flower & bird quilt blocks & have tried putting them together, but can't make up my mind how to go about it. Suggestions?????

My mom did hand embroidery. I haven't got the nerve to try it, yet.

I love hand embrod.! Another addiction:)We RV when the weather is nice and it is a super way to travel:)I really love the Crab Apple designs. Was working on 'winter wonderland' but, set it aside for WIP's..:)(guess I made another doing just that!LOL) She also has 'To Grandmother's House We Go'...that will be next. I learned how to 'stem' stitch this past summer. Love the look of it! And, have to confess, I haven't done cross stitch forever...but, just bought a halloween one that is simple last week:)It was too cute to pass!:)

I also observed where they take 1 strand of floss and basically cross stitch on a reg cotton towel type fabric. When the were done (this was a face in a square) it looked like they had made it in the towel when the towel was made. I thought I might try that later for fun:)Skeat
(Chele...I love your towels and I have one over here myself but, I didn't make it)

I do. Made a real cute quilt for great grand daughter and never took a pic. I get my pics from old coloring books (if I can't find transfers---but e-bay is loaded) and then use a transfer pencil.

I do crewel embroidery, regular embroidery with DMC floss, cross stitch, and hardanger. Then I quilt besides by hand... so much to do... so little time! I should just stay home and do my hobbies!! Oh, I forgot... I do knit if something moves me to make a sweater.

My Nan taught me how to hand embroider when I was young, but haven't done it since then. We still have some of the table cloths and matching napkins that she embroidered, they are so intricate!

I don't remember anyone "teaching" me to embroidery.. seems like I've been doing it for ever, but my grandmother..the one who quilted..did teach me to do "pulled thread work" or Hemstitching...anyone else do this?
Haven't done it in years, but it's VERY simple, just time consuming....but then isn't it all???lol

I learned to crochet but only do the simple steps and I have a real hard time getting my tension right. I start out ok and then it gets tighter and tighter. I can't seem to hold the yarn in my left hand the way others do and I know that is mostly the problem. My daughter is an excellent crocheter. She whips out lap quilts for baby quilts all the time. My grandmother would always ask you to pick an afghan every time you went to see her and we went a lot. She had a large family - 9 kids and 5 stepkids and over 40 grandkids - ? great grandkids etc. so I have 2 that she made and my daughter has a queen size white with red roses( my great aunt made those) and then my mom had her make that one for her and a twin to match. So Mom gave them to Sara (DD) Everyone has at least 2 she made. When we had to put her in the hospital she had afgans stacked 5 high and 5 rows in the closet and afgans under the bed and yarn stored alll over the apt. She passed away in the hosp. 10 yrs ago just a day after her 90th bd She taught me to crochet and I remember watching her do redwork tho she never taught me that. She used to make crocheted hot pads and kept a hamper full of them and would send us all home with several all the time. They are my favorite hotpad to use.

I can't knit to save my soul!! It is probably the only needlework I don't do besides rug hooking. I have tried most kinds of needlework at one time or another. Even needlepoint tho it isn't anything I would spend a lot of time doing. I do have an interesting one a neighbor made for me. I saw some made by this guy one time. He made large firetrucks and semis with needlepoint! Wish I had taken pics.

    This is a scissors holder.

Sapdoggie: As slow as I am at quilting your grandchildren will probably be grandparents themselves by the time I get it done. LOL
