Quilt Mama: I like your version of the Sun Bonnet Sue quit. The cornerstones are really nice. Good work. I would have never thought to do that.

The embroidery I've done, I've done by hand. My doesn't compare to some of these ladies...

I want to do a crazy quilt at some point, and do all the embroidery stitches. I have several stitch directories to pull from.....

I do hand embroidery, mostly in the winter in front of the TV!! My sister has just completed 12 large embroidered blocks that she will make into a - BEAUTIFUL - quilt.

My grandmother taught me embroidery and I did it for years. Just got back into again with a redwork Sunbonnet Sue project.

Here's a link to my cross stitch pics. Don't have a lot of the embroidery pictures. http://s43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...titch/?start=0

Started cross stitch in the 90's, but haven't done much since I learned to quilt. Everyone's projects are lovely!

Skeat -- I've never had any problem with any embroidery floss bleeding. I do wash in cold water, gentle cycle, and use those fabric color catcher thingies  ...

    Here is my "Lonestar Redwork":

SOMEWHERE in my astronomical mess I have around 12 blocks that I embroidered when I was a child. I never put them into a quilt. The fabric is probobly dry rotted by now if I ever find them. I was going to make it for my child. (now 21) Didn't quite happen. LOL

My favorite shorts in the 70's were jean shorts that I embroidered all over. My brother and best friend kept stealing them. I wonder where they ever landed. Ahhhh Such memories!!!!

I do it by hand. My machine doesn't do embroidery but even if it did, I'd still prefer to do it by hand. I find it so relaxing.
