Excuse me ladies, we are QUILTERS. We have the greatest self-defense item in the world - Rotary Cutters. They have a nice handle with a good grip. Have you ever cut your finger with one of these blades? Enough said.

My family took a self defense course years ago after my husband was beat up in broad daylight in front of us by a drug addict. When we got to the studio the instructor explained the course to us then he said OK WHat Happened. I told him and then he said. I will give you a quick course in self defense but no classes as he was afraid we would kill someone because self defense is a preventative measure not a jump and kill.

I also heard that Wasp spray (20ft) can do more harm then pepper spray? It was said that a woman living alone should keep some by bed and main room and if work in office on desk. Most people do not expect to be sprayed with it. If they get some in eye must go to hospital for care.... Have any of you heard this.. And when I worked at Mental Health the police came to teach self defence, only an afternoon class. Not as intense as yours. Proud of you and your girls as it is very impostant to know. (((hugs)))

i have a extra large sharpened key on my keyring, it has a large plastic base that fits comfortable in my palm, then the shank goes between my fingers. could do some damage. but i got my carry permit on my 21st birthday and have carried daily since. 21 years. just get to be comfortable with your daily carry.

As a former police officer I don't recommend the mace. It can be turned against you.

The only self defense I ever learned was the 'center of gravity' slap. Puts EVERYONE on the ground, so I can leave. Worked for me.

My father always told my sisters & I to klick a guy "you know where"! The course I took said never to do that because it makes them angrier. We were taught to hold our hand up in front of us & look for the letter L. (from the tip of the thumb to the tip of the index finger. If someone tries to attack you---what their windpipe wirh the L of your hand! It'll give you long enough to run by the time they catch their breath. Makes sense to me!
