Do I LIKE to can? No, I don't LIKE to. But during those cold, dreary winter days I sure do like to eat what I've canned & am always glad I did it!

I always though canning was a lost art (since none of my friends do it), but judging from this group, I now think differently!

Just went to visit a friend, helped her put up 48 pints of red salmon. Not a lot, but enough for her and her husband.

Miss Treated....I used to can a lot of salmon when I did commercial fishing, but never canned roe. What do you do with it?

Now I wonder if anyone has every canned GRAPES. I have an enormous amount of grapes on my vine this year, first time ever. I know I can make wine and Jelly with them, but how do I can them.

Please can you help me.

The roe isn't actually canned, but simply jarred and refrigerated. I took the picture because it was so pretty. It's salmon caviar and I use it on sushi rolls and stuff. It's really yummy.
