Friends of mine use cotton or cotton blends depending on what fabric they like..

I made a lot of them when had one daughter in veterinary and the other in nursing jobs. They sell scrub material for the top - lots of cute patterns, too. For the pants I used the solid color bottom weight cotton.

I made them for my DIL, with a Simplicity pattern I think. Got the fabric at Walmart. They used to have a cotton/polyester blend that sewed up nice, and was easy care for her (she doesn't iron). I made some for Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day, etc. She had friends that wanted some but I wanted to be able to enjoy what I was doing.

I make them for my sister all the time. She gave me one of her favorite almost threadbare tops and I took it apart and made a pattern from it. I used a good broadcloth the first time and have used cotton blends when I can find them. 100% cotton wrinkles so badly that I thought being a blend could help and she said it did.

I love the Kwik Sew patterns, but I altered the silly tops because of that neck band!. I cut across the front just above the arm holes and made over lapping panels for that area. Here is my DH with one of his on. I use 100% cotton for the tops and what ever I can find on sale for the bottoms. I also put elastic in the waistband and regular slash side seam pockets in the pants. DH use to wear them for everyday.....

I found this post very informative!! My granddauhter just got her degree from Dental Hygeine college and passed herr bboards, so now she is job hunting. She hated the purple scrubs she has had to wear for 2 years, and I bet she will hit me up to make her some scrubs when she is working. I used to make all her clothes until she became a teenager and wanted to have what her friends were buying. Had to shop the "in stores".lol

I have 2 daughters and 3 grandaughters that wear scrubs. I use cotton mix fabric, wrinkle free as I can find, pretty prints and prints for whatever holiday or special event. Lots of neat patterns from all the pattern books but I like Simplicity best. Several of the girlls have to wear special solid colors. I mostly use the basic pattern but sometime I make the more complicated ones. Very easy to make.
