My Malamute just turns around in circles for about 6-8 turns (flattening the 'snow') and flops into a perfect circle. DH's Blue Heeler just stands still, and flops over onto her side.

Mine does, every time. Some times she barks at the blankets as well. I question if she isn't swearing at them. I think if you put her on glass, she would spin and turn and dig and bark. Then she sleeps.....oh and snores. I can hear her from the basement. She's little and loud! 7 lbs of mutt.

My dogs love to cover up I have covers on my chairs and every time Willow gets the chance she is underneath it we have to be careful to look because even when you call her name she won't move. Willow gets under the cover and knocks it around till it covers her completely. she also loves pillows. My other dog Hunter who's deaf likes to nest and he likes when I cover him up too. When he's in bed with me he heads under the blanket. The pics below is Willow on the bed and the other is Hunter on my little nephews air mattress he crawled inside and went to sleep.

My two Shih Tzus have different styles. Shu-Shu will "fluff" the carpet pawing at it, go repeated in circles, fluff some more and then flops down. Lei-Lei will take a dog blanket and work it until she has a nice little ball...sometimes she puts her whole body on it and others just her head.I think all dogs do this, you know, genetics. Also if Shu Shu is fluffing on the couch, all the sofa pillows end up on the floor, she may or may not go to sleep, sometimes she will finish, lay down and look at like "What?"

We call it "Digging to China". We have 3 ShihTzu's. We still laugh every time they do it.
