Don't worry. I think that there are a few kinks they need to work out since they closed down the other day to work on the site.
Because it's been slow I find that when I post I have to wait till it goes through. If you click again it may go through twice, not sure on this though.

it's so slow and we tend to click again and again and that's why double postings happen.
i've started clicking once and watching the tab above. mine shows a blue circle and says posting a reply for quite awhile and then finally posts my reply.
very slow,slow, slow.

I've had lots of issues since they shut down for maintenace last week. The site is super slow, I often have to double click a topic to open it and I too sometimes get double posts even when I only hit the send button once. That is, if it sends at all, which sometimes it doesn't. Oh well, progress, right? LOL

ok. i'll admit it in public. my own patience wore a bit thin during this maintenance cycle. "Cranky" doesn't quite cover it.
BUT it's a lot better now for most users AND it could have been a lot worse.
We all need to remember that billions of people out in the real world have much bigger problems than this to struggle through all day, every day. It will help if we view this in its proper context.

If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer, try the following steps to flatten your speed bumps:
1. Go to the Tools Menu
2. Go to Internet Options
3. At the General Tab, click the Delete Button
4. UNCHECK "Preserve Favorites website data"
5. Check "Temporary Internet Files" and "History"
6. Leave all the other options unchecked.
7. Click Delete
I recently changed computers and don't have Mozilla FireFox loaded on this one, so I can't give you the specific menu options and steps in that program.
If you are using anything other than Internet Explorer, the steps might be slightly different, but your goal will be the same.
You want to "clear your cache" of all old information regarding your past browser visits to the quiltingboard.
Once you've done that, go back to the board http://www.quiltingboard.com
You will have to log in using your member name and password.
If that doesn't fix the problem, please send an email to [email protected]

Also if you get a notice that says "Your topic has been deleted" please look to see if there is a small note attached that might say- your topic posted twice to the board - you will still have it posted once , just trying to clean up the doubles
