Congratulations to your DD.
Glad to see that you're making them invest in the process.
With the cost of gas I would add that to what they are responsible to pay. They will quickly learn the value of the dollar. It will help them to plan their trips wisely, as we are doing more and more, and not make unnecessary trips or drive their friends around.

My girls both learned to drive at age 16 (I was the teacher!!). My oldest grandaughter learned at 16 (I was the teacher again!). Simplest way to solve the "Mom's Taxi" issue is simply to refuse...if they are old enough to get their license then they either get it and drive themselves, take a bus, or get a friend to take them. :-)
