I let the birds use it along with bits and pieces of yarn and material for their nests ..

In the spring, I put it in a tree with thread ends and other tidbits for the birds to pick through for nesting material.

I just trash it. Ok for camping I guess if you can remember to take it with you. I know some crafters use it for making paper and such but only if there is no hair and depending on the type of lint. Cotton or wool.

My niece is den mother for girl scouts. She stops by and picks up bags full of shredded paper for when they have camp outs. I save that and the paper towel rolls so they can stuff them for fire starters.

IT IS SO HIGHLY FLAMMABLE!!!!!!!!! I empty it out of my lint catcher in the dryer after each load so it doesn't collect and throw it in the trash bag. That was one of the things I heard about years ago, adhered to the warning and have not had a problem. I use stuff that won't injure the birds for their nesting, but not lint. It isn't gross or anything and yes, it is as clean as the clothes you put on your back, but it is dangerously flammable. Edie

Put it under bushes the wildlife will love it, especially birdies come nest building time, and I agree I would never use it for anything in the house, other than fire lighting

This was been a question I have had for years as I throw it out with every load. Didn't think about birds nest. Thank you for all the replies.

my friend has a box for birds that she puts lint, threads, small pieces of fabric etc..........thought that was interesting- the birds take hers to build nests. In the winter she just stuffs the box to put it out in the spring.
