[QUOTE=ragqueen03;4674557]We just got an Eden Pure heater to try to help on our fuel oil bills this winter. Does anyone have one of these? I have heard a lot of good things about them. I just can't believe that it will only cost an extra $30 a month or so on our electric bill. Almost want a cold day so we can see if it will work- notice i said ALMOST! lol!. We have a very small house (under 1000 square feet). From what i understand if it really gets cold out (in the teens) we will need to use the furnace but with fuel being around 3.50 a gallon and we use about 500-600 gallons through the winter gotta look to save somewhere. Plastic will be put around windows soon. Plus in a couple of rooms I made a curtain out of a fleece blanket to cut down on the cold air.[/QUOTE we have 3 of them they keep your room at temp.if the room is warm turn it on and will help keep your room at that temp so your heater or heat pump will not keep running all day or on and off- helps the room mant. the temp it does not heat a whole room

we have one that i use in the room i sew in because it
doesnt have a heat duct. but we use this in our tv room
before we turn the heat on for the winter. it works really
good and you dont have to worry about it being hot
    when you touch it.

how much do they cost? i looked on line, but they don't give a price. just a phone number. thx. with them not being hot to the touch, i could use one with the grandson. took him to the basement , and had to really watch him around my electric heater. it sat behind me, but he was always wanting to get up close to granny. thx.

depends on the model you get - for one that will work for 1000 square feet - they could be close to 400-500 dollars- we went to the outlet store and ours was around 400 (that was $75 off the reg price) it also came with a 5 year warranty

They only use 750 watts instead of1300-1500 watts like the other ones use.

Our local electric company sends out a newsletter once a month and they discussed this type of heater and basically they said it was a waste of money - it burns the same amount of electricity and puts out the same amount of heat as the $40 heaters from WalMart or your local hardware store.

We have 2 EdenPure heaters. One we use in the basement if it gets really cold, and the other is used upstairs when our kids are home. I don't recall the actual price, but they are worth the price. We didn't notice any great jump in our electric bill...It remained steady, if anything.

This is what some of the reviews on Amazon say also. Here is a link to the reviews I found:

I have an Eden Pure heater in my work room. It's an added on room with lots of windows & not insulated very well. I've only lived here for 2 years, so it was sort of experimental for me. My sewing machine & knitting machine are computer models, so I have to keep heat above 50, tried to maintain above 60. Found my electric bill very high. This year after Christmas I'm moving my machines in main part of house. Hope you have better luck than me.

We have had our's for 2 years now. It does save on the heat bill. We also use it in the camper so as to not have to use the propane tanks. We purchased a "RED" heat one last year and it came with a humidifier and air purfier, the "jury" is still out on it. I basically use it for the moment to put some mositure in the air. This house is so dry, I hope the new one we move into in December won't be so dry. I am tired of being "shocked" when ever I touch something.
