I am pretty low tech to start with. I read all these posts about machine quilting problems - thread looping on the back, puckers, etc. and I think to myself, I never have those problems when I am quilting (by hand.).

In our home, DH is the big spender & I'm the non spender. Also, he is a duplicate, triplicate, etc. spender. If he sees something he really likes he will buy in multiples. His thought is "he may never be able to buy it again because they will stop making it". When it comes to quilting, the only big ticket item that we bought was my Janome Magnolia 7330. We were in a quilt shop & they sold Janome machines & he thought I just had to have one that very day. I wish I would have had more time to do research on it before he bought it for me as I would have preferred a larger throat & more decorative stitches. So, as for me & the way I spend I would have to say I have very few items that were not adequately thought out.
