I'm looking for a quiet beach near lots of stuff to do, planning a vacation for this fall. This beach looks really good online but I'd love to hear some experiences and have some input from everybody! Thanks in advance!

Wish I could help you. I haven't been there since Hurricane Camille hit back in 69(?). We used to go there every summer to go camping when I was growing up.

Yes I live in Fairhope Al. This beach is only less than 30min away from me. You will love it lots of sites and things to do including the battle ship. But you can see all this when you google it look at Fairhope just to see how pretty the town is. Monie

I love Fairhope! It's a gorgeous town and very family friendly. We stayed in the town for a few weeks on vacation. I remember a big art festival in town at the time. The USS Alabama was a great place to visit. We all enjoyed that. Lots of historical sites to visit in the area. One place was a mansion with beautiful gardens. The kids even liked that. If I remember Dauphin Island only had one museum/aquarium and other then the beach that's all. It's nice and quiet. The kids liked the ferry ride more then the island. LOL.

Hi, yes I have been there quite a few years back. There is a ferry you can take for a day trip to the other island, beware of long car lines. Be sure to stop and buy all your food before getting to your place because the island did not offer much in that department. We did have a nice dinner at that "resort" there. The ice cream shop has burgers and hot dogs. It's a real quiet area. Be careful of the drop offs in the gulf and if you go to the bay be sure to shuffle your feet (with swim shoes) because of the sting rays. Enjoy your beach time!
