I try to ask for the exact amount of postage - I have a fairly accurate food scale - and TRY to calculate the weight accurately. And then go to the USPS site to get the cost for mailing.

I think ONCE I overcharged someone for postage - because I didn't have her zip code - and have paid EXTRA because for whatever reason I undercalculated the postage several times.

It's a happy day for me when they are exact matches. :)

Some clerks at some post offices are more picky about how distorted the flat rate envelopes can be now.

Nothing like doing some mailings oneself to become aware of the cost of postage!

Also - the percentage that PayPal takes out of a small purchase is HIGH! I think it was around 10%. I ended up barely covering the cost of postage on that sale.
