Something that is impossible or nearly impossible -- "like going upstream in a canoe without a paddle."
An expression after eating a really big meal --"I'm full as a tick on a bear's a-- (behind)."
And -- "Don't let the door hit you on the way out!"
Finally --"What you don't know can't hurt you."

"Nothing ventured, nothing gained". This is one of my favorites!
A couple my mother used to say..."You're sharp today. You must have slept in the knife drawer". And... "You'd kick if you were in swimming".
