My niece and I met Carol Channing in the lobby of a theatre in Boston. She was very kind to my niece who was just a tiny little thing then.

I also met both John and Ted Kennedy.

I met Doc Severinson when I was a teenager. He was so nice and very handsome. I nearly swooned. He signed his autograph, "Love, Doc Severinson.". He was the band leader for Johnny Carson.

About 1978 in the lobby of April Sound CC on Lake Conroe, I walked right passed Phyllis Diller as she was checking in. She was a little lady in a white pants suit and a white turban. I didn't recognize her -- DH later told me who she was

Mark "The Bird" Fridrych, (A Detroit Pitcher,) was one of the most exciting pictchers ever. Death at 54, came from freak accident, while working on his dump truck.
i ran into him in a shopping mall, when his career was over, and i thanked him for bringing such fun to baseball! his childlike enthusiasm was contagious!

I was picked out of the audience to sing on stage with Barry Manilow in front of 10,000 people! I partied one night with the Oak Ridge Boys after their concert. I met John Wayne. I met John & Jim Hager (Hee Haw) several times. Porter Wagner & Little Jimmy Dickens & Jim Ed Brown. I also met & chatted with Hilary Clinton for a few minutes. I wasn't a fan of hers for President, but she was very nice & gracious!

Glenn Stetson (RIP), lead singer with the Diamonds (60's singing group) and Troy Gentry and Eddie Montgomery of Montgomery Gentry. All are very down to earth people.

My DH had his own band in the 60's and 70's and toured with a lot of the rock and roll singers from that era. If they were popular then he knows them. Also a lot of country singers from that time.

I met James Drury back in the 70's when he came to a nearby town for a play he and Carolyn Jones were in. I waited around after the play for a few minutes, hoping I could catch him when he left and get a picture and autograph. He very graciously let me take his picture and get his autograph. He didn't have a pen so he used mine and I still have it. Then he used it to sign a few more and then he walked up the hill in front of us looking back. The Virginian was my very favorite show growing up and I would never have thought I would meet him in person.

    What a wonderful story.

My favorite famous person is Doyle McCormmick. He is the engineer for the Daylight 4449. He saved this steam engine from being scrapped and restored it to it's former glory. He is a really sweet man and very good friend.
