Fee for using pay pal?

There is a 2.9%, plus $.30 Paypal acceptance fee to receive money. You can use the Paypal fee calculator to see what that amount would be, & give the option for the buyer to pay the fee if they want to use Paypal.
Or, you can increase the cost of what you are selling to cover the Paypal fee.

i have never paid a fee when sending money for any purpose unless i wanted to put it on my credit card.
when we sell to each other here, we cannot ask the buyer to pay the fees. they are our responsibility.
we also cannot ask the buyer to send the money as a gift in order to avoid the fees.

When I first starting selling on ebay, the rules were:
No cost to send or recieve.
UNLESS you accepted credit card payments. If you accepted credit card payments, you were automatically charged the fee for ALL money receipts, even the ones that were bank account transfers.
Rules could have changed since then, I haven't used it for a few years. I do seem to remember the last time I sent money, that I was offered a chance to pay the fee for the seller.

The sale price of whatever you sell should include the cost you hope to recover for the materials (and if a product you made, your time) as well as any money spent to sell the product. The shipping charge should cover the cost of postage and a small amount to cover packaging (like the cost of the envelope - note - the shipping charge should be as accurate as possible - all gain should be made in the product price.)

I discoverd that I get reduced postage if I buy it through the USPS website plus you can request they pick it up from you.you can also print the label and have the postage taken from your Pay Pal account which your buyer has already deposited into your account. I keep some prioity mailers on hand so I dont even have to leave the house to complete a transaction.
