Best friend and I found out yesterday that our favorite semi-local quilt shop is closing the retail store and doing on-line only. Being our favorite haunt, we're beside ourselves. So many happy hours of fabric selection. May just have to use some of the 100's of fabric we already have stashed away. Now what would be the fun of that

LOL, now that made me laugh...NOT the part about your favorite quilt store closing, but actually using some of the fabric! ;-)

PS - I'm sorry to hear about the store closing.

Working in retail can't be easy anymore; both working in hard economic times and with the general public but would think quilters must be a pretty good bunch to deal with. Also tough to do much quilting of your own when so many hours are spent at the store.

Sounds like you will have a good excuse to plan a road trip day once a month or so with friends to search out other quilt shops. Or maybe plan a stash swap day.

Absolutely, because the hunt is the best part. Who knows, maybe a new shop will spring up too.
