I live in the CA desert where the temps in summer are always very high, only 103 today. We have air conditioning and ceiling fans running all summer. We are well prepared and expect the heat. I do feel very sorry for you folks in the east who have to deal with humidity and heat. Keep hydrated and safe, drink before you are thirsty. I hope your temps go down soon.

It has been really hot and muggy here in Iowa too. We have had so much rain that the highways have been closed coming into our town. It is just pouring rain again now. At least we have AC and can be comfortable in the house. Hope it cools down for you soon.

Just came in from walking the dog. We usually do a mile or two every day. Today we went around the block and came in. I think the road was too hot for his feet. What's weird is there are no birds out right now--probably in the trees where it's shady. Patches came in and sprawled out on the floor in front of the fan--he's no dummy! AC is running but we've had several "brown-outs".

Ya'll, please, BE CAREFUL!!! Drink plenty of fluids, don't stop eating. We are used to that kind of heat out here in the desert, but I'm really worried about you folks up north. We have already had from 100* to 110* this year, which is common for our part of the country, but not for ya'll. Just stay inside with your fans...shop in the middle of the night, and move slowly during the day. Don't go outside from about 9:00am until 9:00 pm. Stock up on popsicles and salad fixings. Please, stay safe... the heat will break soon. Until then, hang on and take it easy!

Even in northern Vermont it is hot and humid. We are in our motorhome with the A/C running. At least it's cool inside and I am sewing. I can do this at home(TN), and have lots more space. It should break in another day, so I guess we'll stay! This is our favorite place in the summer.

It was 105 or so on our back deck yesterday in New Jeresy. At 10PM it "cooled off" to 97 degrees!
I sat in front of my air conditioner and worked on a knitting project all weekend. Now I only have about 60 more rows of a sleeve to finish the entire sweater (and put it away until the fall)
