i put the flat sheet aside and wait.
when the next fitted sheet dies, i have two flats. now i just tuck one under the mattress. it worked 50 years ago and guess what!
it still does. then i call it a set and move on. the mattress is so heavy, that sheet is going nowhere.

Walmart sells them separate although you have to look they are in the same isle as the rest.I use the flat sheets for quilts that are going to be used alot like for picnics and such.I also use them for making a sandwich to practice my quilting on then turn them into potholders bag for groceries and so on and so forth. You can also make your fitted sheets .Very easy .

I sew mine out of flat sheets.I pin the corners on the mattress for a pattern. then sew corners and cut.I dont use elastic, but buy the mattress corner holders to keep them in place. They are elastic with clips on both ends. Bed Bath and BEYOND always has them. HOPE THIS HELPS. CM
