Keen is a great brand of shoe. Also SAS - did you know that stands for San Antonio Shoes? Made in the USA ! Clarks is a good brand and Born and Ecco. These are more expensive but they last much longer than inexpensive shoes and better for you. Rockport is great too.
I have had my Ecco sandles for at least 10 years. Use them lots, even on bus trips where one does lots of walking. Very comfortable.

For those of you who don't like the "thingy" between your toes - check out this site on how to change them - with fabric from your stash!

I tried to make them and couldn't get the fabric tied correctly on the bottom of the "shoe". So - I used a button that was just a bit bigger than the hole (so it wouldn't pull through). Worked like magic! And comfy too!

I wear flipflops around the house routinely but there are huge differences in the quality. And price is, as usual, a pretty decent predictor comfort. Be sure the piece that goes between your toes is narrow enough to be comfortable and that the side pieces go smoothly into the shoe without leaving bumps where they go under the sole. A little lift to the heel helps a ton as well. Not as cheap, but lots more wearable.

I have several pairs and wear them a good bit when I run out for a minute...like getting the mail, putting the trashcan at the street, stuff like that. I don't wear them much otherwise except at the pool or beach.

I see people wearing them, but I don't. Not crazy about things between my toes (I do wear crocs for gardening -they slip on). There have been articles lately about flip flops from foot doctors about them being bad for your feet, if worn all day, due to no support.
