I always get flu shots, hubby too, but he has asthma and at our age we are at risk. Calling his doctor tomorrow to see if Tamiflu will help prevent. Doctors two little children are hospitalized with it and we are praying for them, and everyone else sick. Maybe an early spring will help.

I wear a light pair of gloves IN the store. I know, I have to remove them when I pay - but have my debit card in a pocket and ready. I’m retired and I can find plenty to do at home so I only venture out for necessary things. We do go to church but we’re giving the “peace sign” or making eye contact instead of a handshake and I actually like it better anyway.

Both my husband and I get flu shots every year and since he is a heart patient with a left ventriclure device we are super super careful that he does not sick. We are normally not very social and with the medical issues we are even more likely to avoid crowds and places were we could pick up anything. We also wash hands a lot and use hand sanitizer. It is very widespread here in North Carolina

Ditto for us as well; I have an artificial aortic valve, so I don't go out much, sanitize hands often, and use a mask when I have to. Flu is rampant here. I did go to the Y one day and a lady was coughing her head off; I left.

It's bad around here too. I didn't get the flu shot until I got the flu and I was so sick I thought the dr. was going to tell me to put my affairs in order. That's how bad I felt. So I get the flu shot now, even though it is not a guarantee. At least I feel like I am doing something. I read somewhere that there are antiviral masks to be had inexpensively at the drug store, so I'm going to get some of them. May look strange but will be a level of protection.

Yes, here too. One of my sons is going for a second round. DH had it and now has a nasty cold. I booted him to a separate room. Another son that shares the bedroom with the sick son, is temporarily sleeping in the hallway upstairs. I got an extra day bed set up there. I feel like everyone around me has had it but I have not.

From the news on our radio station there is a lot of flu and lots of sick people. Antibiotics won't help because it is a virus. We got a cold settling in our sinus and still coughing from it, sucking Vitamin C lounges help. I have gotten a flu shot for many years. My Husband decided a couple of years ago to start getting them also.

The only year DH didn’t get a flu shot was the year he got the flu. I had him to Doctor and he gave him medication. He looked at healthy me and wrote out a 7 day prescription for me and advised me to find another place to sleep. I didn’t sleep a wink all night, so I passed it off as “ok, I’ll sleep tomorrow night” 'but same thing over again, then I decided to quit the precription.
