All colts this year ... that would be a good reason to want fillies.
I am getting all heifers ... this is a complete reversal of the way things should be for the respective ranches ... bummer!
But, one gets so excited about a live, uneventful birth, you love them just the same.
getting nose in right direction ... good job oh, Fine Fellow!

Patches sure is a loving mommy. I didn't see Flirt as attentive as she is. And it looks like baby has found the milk bar. Looks like Kay could just fall asleep right there with them.

See how she is licking under his tail?
That stimulates the sucking instinct in the babies ... that is a good mother trait ... and, if you ever have to bottle feed a newborn baby animal, it is a good thing to know ... rubber gloves are a good thing! <g>

We've had puppies that we had to hand feed and "stimulate" cause mom needed to get a c-section to get the last, unfortunately dead, puppy out. We used a damp cotton ball.
