Forest Elf
#1
I have been in doll mode and since I got a request for a doll (because I only do what I like), I made two to give the customer a choice.
These are forest elves. The body is made out of leafy or foresty batik. The feet are elongated and formed as leaves. I didn't follow the pattern to a T lol. I instead inserted a wire to string her head on so it can be turned and I also stung the arms and legs on with a nice bead at each end so they can also be move easily. I hate stationary things with no choices.
The clothing is very unique. They are quilted with a leaf shape. They also get cuffs on their ankle and they will have beading etc. I am working on the clothing now and will post some more when done.
I made one with an autumn effect and the other with a more darker night effect.

The faces are painted with fabric glitter paint and lot of glitter after. The faces are also sclupted. I love the string coming out of her head lol, but that will be hidden once the hair goes on. They also get pointed ears.

It's for a He. He loves artsy stuff. They collect all sorts of neat stuff. I have throughly enjoyed myself making these, staying up until 2 am nights is a row lol.
I have an extensive collection of doll patterns and I actually was going to work on a gypsy wagon that is so fantastic. It's all batik and quilted like a purse but then this came along.
I feel good when I use a pattern from my collection. I feel like the money is not wasted because I am using it lol.
