Default French

I am having fun-- slowly. I bought a book on an ancestor but it is in French! and only 66 pages too. Goodness i must have been blind when I got this. I am translating it slowly. I will put that into the book for any future readers in my family (or not).
Used books are cheap but I did splurge on this one.

That's an exciting discovery! Good for you for tackling the translation. Amusez-vous bien! :-)

Very interesting. I love genealogy. that's how I discovered that I had Irish, Italian and german ancestors and French also.

As far as reading it french. I have to smile as It sounds pretty much like the way I learned english. Not easy nor fast but doable,. Good for you!

IIRC, French has different verb tenses for written vs. spoken. Makes it hard to read even if you know conversational French. Good luck!
