we have a special day here in Northeast Ohio when the buzzards return to Hinckley... its a huge day of celebration, etc., there is a big festival in the town, etc. My daughter always comes runnin' and lets me know when she first hears the frogs, too ~ just like I always run and tell her when my first buds start peekin' thru :) love frogs! We have a friend with a pond, so when she starts hearing them, we have to take a trip to visit them.

I love to hear frogs. We live in Colorado, not too many frogs here, but when we lived in Florida it was a different story. Frogs remind me of our beautiful 19 year old granddaughter. When her mama was due to deliver her daddy was working out of town, so mama-to-be stayed with us. In the early dawn of morning, when we left for the hospital, the frogs were croaking the hallelujah chorus! As a result we've always said her Indian name is Many Croaking Frogs. (her real name is Marylee)
Thanks for the reminder of that memorable day.
