FYI...If I am missing for a while....

I, as Moonpi, went through three hurricanes in one summer. We are on a flat island. It's scary. Be sure you have flashlights and lots of batteries, more water than you think you'll need, gas for the grill, important documents in a stay dry container, ice and extra pet food. You're up high, right? So flooding isn't good to be so bad for you. Hope your roof stays on. We are low. 3 feet above sea level. Flooding is our biggest problem. I'm keeping good thoughts for you.

I'm still here. Right now we have cloudy blue skies, but that doesn't mean anything. The rain we had the past couple days was from another front that was lurking around out there.
Right now, they say it's east/southeast of us and moving west/northwest and is 540 miles away. They say the southern part of the island is going to be the worst. Gee...guess where I live? Yup! Southern part. Oh well....
I've gone thru hurricanes, blizzards.....anyone in New England remember Blizzard of 78? I'm sure there's someone young enough to remember that. Took me 4 days to get home from work. Finally got home and no power for almost a week and a half. They called the Canadians in to help restore power to the area. Good thing Mom and Dad had the travel trailer!
I think we will be fine. Just trying to figure out if hubby is coming home or not. Still haven't gotten an answer from him on that. I'm thinking they'll probably stay at sea and skirt the storm <shrug>

Just be safe, Terri, and have plenty of water.
I'm sure it's hard not being able to get a hold of DH.
He's probably worrying about you also.
You will be in all of our prayers and thoughts.
Let us know when it's over and you are alright.
And do some hand sewing!! :D :D

Hubby and I have been e-mailing.....gotta love the NEW Navy! lmao
Last one I got from him was.....gotta get back to work and make the screw turn.
Guess that means they are headed home or headed somewhere!
I just worry about him being on this ship. I worry more about him now than I did the past 20 years he was on submarines. Go figure, huh?

I can understand that. It's a different time we live in. And as we get older, we worry more
So glad that the 2 of you can e-mail!
We had 2 hurricanes, where we were out of power for a week and it is no picnic. And 1 large snow storm where there were hundreds of trees down. All the men were out with chain saws and their trucks. they cleared all of the road so we could get through. DH was out all night cutting. Pine trees go down fast in a snow storm here. :D When the power cam back on , I hit that shower as soon as the water was hot!!   It was still so cold in the bathroom that the fog was so thick I couldn't see, but that shower felt good! :D
