If you have problems again, find an Avon dealer and buy some Skin so Soft and use it as when you "rinse" your dogs. It smells wonderful and BUGS hate it.....

I have a little different "pest" situation. The deer think my hostas are their own personal salad bar! I have lots of stalks left, but few leaves. A remedy which my friend suggested -- which apparently works -- pepper spray mixture. That's water, hot sauce (like Texas Pete, etc.), and a little Dawn which will help it stay on the leaves. Doesn't harm the flowers and after a couple of bites, the deer will leave it alone.

Now if I could just teach the deer to eat weeds and not flowers!

My Army Son-in-law said that he and his buddies used it when
wading through jungles. As for the scent, he's a 6'5 Master Sgt
and doesn't get much guff from anyone.

I wonder if this would work for ticks. I don't have a problem with fleas but ticks seem to be a problem all the time.

I would not use detergent on the carpets. It could irritate the dogs skin and/or make them sick. If you hold laundry detergent in your hand for a few minutes it will start to burn.

Dill works for me. I plant a few pots of marigolds on the deck & put dill in the middle of the flowers. No fleas, mosquitoes, bugs, spiders, etc come up the steps.
As the dill grows, you can top it off to use as a spice and/or put it under furniture, throw rug, etc in a small cloth pouch. Keeps fleas & other unwanted critters from coming in your home.
Safe for my 2 dogs as well as the grands.
I have also heard several people give their animals, dogs & cats a garlic pill a day & keeps fleas off. Pests don't like the smell of garlic. :) I never tried it as dill works for me!
