Oh, God. I pray for her protection and safety, though there are so *many* missing and dead. Also nearly 2 million without any utilities it is being reported. This is just so very shocking, devastating, paralyzing, unimaginable, just horrifying. It is truly hard to process from this far away; one can not even begin to picture what enduring this is like.
I feel so hopeless and helpless for the country.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers!!! We are okay!!!
We are 2 hours north of Sendai and felt the big earthquake at a level 4. No injuries are reported in Misawa. Finally got power back and hope it stays on. We still get very strong aftershocks.
