Gauze question
I have a piece of thin cloth that I purchased at Pier 1 Imports years & years & years ago. It's a stripe & we use it just as a light weight, soft piece to drape over us if we get a bit cool while just sitting around, etc. It's soft & thin & my DH loves it. It's got many tears in it that I have been repairing but it's really on it's last leg. Does anyone know about the gauze that is sold in Joann's? It reminds me of a gauze fabric but I'm not sure because I've never really looked a gauze fabric before but just know that I think it's thin & soft.
This is what JoAnn's is selling right now for $5.99 p/yd. Is that a good price? Is there a better price out there? I don't want it to be scratchy against my skin but want it to be soft & very light....lighter than a sheet. Any help would be appreciated.

I have seen cotton “lawn” fabric that is gauze-like and soft. Maybe that’s what you have? I’m not sure what lawn is, or what it’s used for, but I’ve seen it plain and printed. I thing Connecting Threads carried a selection of it at one time.

If you think dingle fold cotton/gauze diapers this is what the fabric is like. Very soft for babies bottoms and older folks too:-) It will shrink when washed so I would plan on a little extra length. I think it would make a great wrap. It will also soften even more when washed.
